Although environmental emergencies make up only a portion of my work today, I’m often called to the site of an oil spill, tank rupture, toxic fire, or transportation accident to assist in the crew logistics, coordination and documentation preparation of chemical clean-ups.
In addition, I serve as a liaison to the City of Los Angeles Fire Department as a Battalion Emergency Response Coordinator for prompt community evacuations should a fire, a toxic plume or a chemical liquid discharge poses a hazard risk to the residents in the community area.
In August 2000, Mr. McDavid was the first person to organize the First Symposium of OSHA Facility Incident Commanders in the State of California at CalState University Los Angeles.
